Your Child's Learning Guide, From First Count to Matric
Nova is BrytePlay's friendly learning companion. Nova guides every game, speaks your child's home language, and grows up with them, from a playful helper in Grade R to a study coach in matric.
Nova Grows Up With Your Child
Little Nova
Pre-school and Grade R · ages 3–6
A small glowing friend who speaks every instruction aloud, celebrates every try and never says "wrong". Little Nova only uses lines recorded and checked by our team.
Ranger Nova
Grades 1–6 · ages 6–12
A guide on missions who gives hints when your child is stuck, explains mistakes and reads stories aloud. Everything Ranger Nova says comes from an approved script.
Mentor Nova
Grades 7–12 · ages 12–18
A study coach that explains ideas, quizzes before tests and helps plan for matric. Mentor Nova only talks about schoolwork and has strict safety filters.
What Nova does
- Speaks every instruction, so children who can't read yet can play
- Uses your child's home language and a South African voice
- Notices when your child is stuck and offers a hint
- Remembers what your child has mastered and picks the next step
- Celebrates effort, not just right answers
- Tells you, in plain words, what your child learned this week
What Nova never does
- Asks a child for their name, school, address or photo
- Chats freely with children under Grade 7
- Talks about anything other than learning, or pretends to be a real person
- Pushes purchases: anything to buy is shown only to parents, behind a parent lock
- Makes a child feel bad for a wrong answer or for stopping
You Can Switch Nova's AI Off
With the AI switched off, Nova uses only pre-recorded lines. Every game still works, and it uses less data. The choice is always yours.
